About Us

LeaCar LLC has existed in various forms (and names!!) since 1989. We were originally formed to perform general programming and computer consulting for several local businesses. In 1998, LeaCar Consulting, Inc. (superceeded by LeaCar LLC in 2004) was formed with the mission of providing innovative automation solutions for the CAD industry using Autodesk's® AutoCAD®, Mechanical Desktop® and Inventor™ Software.

LeaCar LLC was formed (and right now is solely staffed!) by Robert Williams (By the way.....The name LeaCar comes from Robert's two daughter's names, Leanne and Carly....). Robert has used his experience to develop 2D and 3D design tools to automate the design and drafting process.

Robert's qualifications include:

Self-taught user of AutoCAD® (since Release 9), Mechanical Desktop® (since Release 1.1) and Inventor™ (since Release 1).
Programming experience that includes AutoLISP®, VisualBasic®, BASIC, FORTRAN, Pascal, C and C#.
32 years of Process equipment/Piping/Structural/Plant layout/Mechanical design experience. This has included design, drafting, Project and CAD Management, Field Inspection (Local, USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America) and just about anything else that happens in a design environment.
Experience with all aspects of computer technology that includes MS-DOS and all Windows variants, networking, IT Management, internet/email, application development and hardware configuration and repair.
Development of an automation application using Mechanical Desktop® 1.1 that has been demonstrated by Autodesk®.
Regular contributor and speaker at local User Group and other Technical Events.
